The book of Job declared " the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord". It is with genuine sadness that SJFC announces the earthly departure of Deacon Darnell Pittman. "Duck", as he was affectionately called by his loving family and friends, stepped aboard the Gospel Train bound for Glory on Monday, September 30, 2024 at the UNC of Nash.

Moments have been etched in time for family and friends to pay homage to "Duck", during a visitation, that will be held 5 pm - 7 pm, Saturday, October 05, 2024 in the chapel of the S. Jones Funerals and Cremations. During this time, family and friends can embrace each other while reminiscing on the good ole times shared with "Duck".

A Home Going Celebration will be held 2:30 pm, Sunday, October 06, 2024 in the sanctuary of the New Bethel Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a Deacon in the Lord's House.

Interment will take place in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
