Jones F. and C. formerly announce that Deacon James Edward Thomas Sr. stepped aboard the Gospel Train, bound for Glory, on December 22, 2023, at Duke Raleigh Hospital.

Services to Celebrate and Honor Deacon Thomas' Life and Legacy will begin with a visitation, 6 pm - 8 pm, Friday, December 29, 2023, in the chapel of the S. Jones Funerals and Cremations.

A Home Going Celebration will be held 12 noon, Saturday, December 30, 2023, in the sanctuary of the Morning Star Baptist Church, Battleboro, NC.

The earthly remains of Deacon Thomas will be laid to rest in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Among his survivors are his son, James E. Thomas Jr. (Renee); daughters, Stacey Y. Thomas and Janeth Seraile; his siblings: Betty Hill, Lorraine Burney and Walter Thomas, and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
