Deaconess Doris Simmons Obituary
Lee Williams noted in a song, "If I never sing another song, down here on this earth, I will be singing with the Angels, in my new home". It has been the sad duty of S. Jones F. and C. to announce that Deaconess Doris Alice Northington Simmons closed her earthly song book on February 14, 2021 to sing in the "Heavenly Choir".
The family has reserved Saturday, February 20, 2021 for friends and loved ones to come and pay their respects during a visitation that is to be held in the chapel of S. Jones Funerals and Cremations 5 pm - 6:30 pm, with an Inspirational Wake beginning at 5:30 pm.
A Celebration of Her Life and Music Legacy will be held 2:30 pm, Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Rise Church 3520 Bishop Rd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
She will be laid to rest in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery Halifax, NC.
