The hymn writer penned the comforting words, "When They Ring Those Golden Bells for You and Me." On June 24, 2026, those golden bells rang in Heaven for Mrs. Dorothy Pitt Lyons as she peacefully answered the Master's call and transitioned into eternal rest at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Family and friends are invited to gather in loving remembrance to celebrate the life and legacy of this devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend. The services will begin with a visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, Whitakers, North Carolina, where the immediate family will receive relatives and friends during this hour. Immediately following the visitation, a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 p.m.
