With consoling hearts, the staff of S. Jones Funerals and Cremations have been charged with the solemn duty of announcing that Mr. Leon Townsend has peacefully laid down the cares of this world and entered into eternal rest on April 28, 2026, while at Nash UNC Medical Center.

Services to commemorate his life will commence with a public viewing from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026, during which he will lie in repose at the altar of the Greater New Testament Holy Church in Sharpsburg, North Carolina. Following the public viewing, a Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM.
