I sing because I am Happy, I sing because I am Free, His eyes is on the sparrow, and I know he watches me. It has become the sad duty of S. Jones F. and C. to announce that Miss Lillie Mae Whitaker graced us with her last song, on this side of Jordan, as of September 30, 2025, and she is now singing with the Angels in the Heavenly Choir.

The Life Remembering Services for Miss Whitaker have been thoughtfully arranged to honor her extraordinary journey. These services will take place on the evening of Friday, October 10, 2025. A heartfelt visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the chapel of S. Jones Funerals and Cremations. At 6:00 PM, an Inspirational Wake will commence, celebrating a remarkable 102 years of her Legacy of Love—a legacy woven with compassion, wisdom, and an indelible impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The family will climax her Life Remembrance with a “Loving Farewell Ceremony" at 1 pm, Saturday, October 11, 2025, in the sanctuary of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Miss Whitaker's earthly remains will be laid to rest in the Enfield Memorial Cemetery.
