A poet once wrote, “Fathers are wonderful people, too little understood, and we do not sing their praises as often as we should.” Today, S. Jones F. and C. joins the Gorham Family in honoring and celebrating the life and legacy of Mr. Melvin Gorham, a beloved father, grandfather and cherished soul, who peacefully answered the Master’s call on May 20, 2026, in the comfort of his home. 

A Service of Praise honoring his life and enduring legacy will convene with a public viewing from 12 pm until 1 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the chapel of S. Jones Funerals and Cremations. Following the viewing, a Celebration of Life service will begin at 1 pm as family and friends gather in remembrance and tribute.
