With hearts of love and gratitude for a life well lived, the Pitts family announces that Mother Doris Dean Pitts has exchanged her earthly home for her eternal home in Glory. Surrounded by God's grace, Mother Pitts peacefully transitioned from this life on Monday, July 6, 2026, at ECU North Medical Center. Professional services have been entrusted to S. Jones Funerals and Cremations.

The family will receive relatives and friends during a visitation on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of S. Jones Funerals and Cremations.

A Home Going Celebration honoring the life and legacy of Mother Doris Dean Pitts will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church.

Following the service, Committal Rites will be held at the graveside of Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
