A Psalmist beautifully expressed, “When you hear of my Home Going, do not worry for me, for I am simply a soldier on my way home.” S. Jones F. and C. has the heartfelt responsibility of announcing that, as of March 13, 2026, Mother Mattie Mae Banks Williams has departed from this world. She no longer answers to her name on this side of Jordan; instead, she is joyfully rejoicing with the angels in Heaven. Having exchanged her hat for a crown of righteousness, she now rests peacefully in her eternal home.
Services to honor the enduring legacy of Mother Williams will commence with a visitation on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM in the chapel of S. Jones Funerals and Cremations. The family will be present during this time to acknowledge their many friends and acquaintances, as they collectively reflect on and celebrate her remarkable life.
A Home Going Service will be held 1 pm, Saturday, March 21, 2026 in the sanctuary of the Smith Chapel Baptist Church.
Committal Rites will take place in the Smith Chapel Church Cemetery
