Mother Virginia Lyons Ewuell

Psalms 116:15 reminds us that, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” Heaven rejoices at the arrival of another saint: Mother Virginia Ann Lyons Ewuell. Mother Eweull peacefully exchanged her earthly garments for her robe in glory on April 14, 2026, while preparing to go sing praises to the God she serve at the Free Union Baptist Church.

On Sunday, April 19, 2026, in the sanctuary of the St. Matthew Baptist Church (Dunbar Community), where she served the church wholeheartedly in various capacities, a visitation will be held  4pm - 7 pm as she lies in state at the altar of her church. The immediate family will be present to honor their numerous friends and relatives as they reflect on the life and legacy of Mother Ewuell.

A Home Going Celebration will be held 12 noon, Monday, April 20, 2026 in the sanctuary of the St. Matthew Baptist Church.

She will be laid to rest in the St. Matthew Church Cemetery.
