Funeral Service Apprentice/Director's Assistant

Mr. Craig L. Adams, Jr. also known as "Bubba" and "AJ" by family and close friends is the son of  the Reverend Monica and Deacon Craig L. Adams, Sr. He is a native of Zebulon, North Carolina and Bunn High School graduate of 2018.


Craig is a member of Jones Hill M.B.C of Spring Hope, NC where he serves as Church Administrator and a member of the choir.


Craig began his career in Funeral Service in Zebulon under the mentorship of the late Myron N. Davis in 2015. Craig is currently enrolled at Fayetteville Technical Community College majoring in Funeral Service Education and serves S. Jones as Funeral Service Apprentice and Director's Assistant.

Craig's infectious smile, compassionate heart, and passion brings great joy to our staff. He can always be heard saying "I've got peace!" and that indeed he does.

Operations Manager

Mr. Alvin Mills, Jr. son of Hellen Barrett and Alvin Mills is a native of Greenville, NC and is a graduate of Right Step Academy.


Alvin is a member of Greater New Testament Holy Church under the leadership of the Apostle Patrick Avent.


Alvin began his career in Funeral Service under the mentorship and leadership of the late EJ Hamlette III at Norcott & Company Funeral Home of Ayden, NC and Mr. Donovan Phillips in 2004.


Alvin's warm smile, his willingness to serve families, and his passion for funeral service brings great asset to our staff. Alvin is known for his uplifting stories, and can often be heard saying "I'm reminded of a story.."


Ms. Marilyn Person Turner

Office Administator

Ms. Marilyn Person Turner "Pumpkin", is the daughter of Joyce Person and the late Deacon Harold Person. She is the proud mother of one son, Ryan Turner, mother-in-law of Demetria Ledbetter Turner, and grandmother of Kirsten Turner. 


Pumpkin is a native of Enfield, North Carolina and graduate of Enfield High School. She has her Batchelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Winston-Salem State University and a Masters of Management Degree from Cambridge College.


Pumpkin is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Pi International Business Fraternity.


She is a member of Greater New Testament Holy Church, Sharpsburg, NC under the leadership of Apostle Patrick Avent where she is a Trustee, President of the Hospitality Ministry, Council Board Member, Youth Advisor,  and Greeter.


Marilyn retires from the Department of Public Safety October 2020 after 25 years of service as an Adult Probation Parole Officer/Judicial Services Coordinator.


She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends and meeting new people.


Pumpkin's free spirit, compassion for others, great personality, managerial skills and contagious smile makes her a great asset as an Administrator, Public Relations Representative, and Greif Support Specialist here at S. Jones Funerals and Cremations.

Ms. Shanetta Pittman

Ms. Shanetta Pittman

Assistant of the Director

Ms. Shanetta D. Pittman, daughter of the Deaconess Betty Pittman and Trustee Calvin Pittman, is a native of Enfield, NC., and a 1990 graduate of Southeast Halifax High School.

Shanetta is a two-time graduate of Elizabeth City State University, receiving a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a Master's Degree in School Leadership. She is licensed to teach K-6 Elementary Education, and is a certified NC Literacy Coach, and currently serves as the Assistant Principal/NAF Academy Director of Weldon STEM High School Career Academics.

Shanetta is a member of Greater Joy Baptist Church, where she serves as the Youth Choir Directress, and a founding member of Greater Joy North.  Shanetta is the founder of The Academy of Learning with Jhanetta and Shanetta (Book Your Stay Reading Center) in Enfield, NC. She is also member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Shanetta began her career in Funeral Service at S. Jones Funerals and Cremations under the leadership of Deacon Shaun C. Jones and Apostle Patrick D. Avent, where she services as the Assistant to the Director. 


Shanetta enjoys working with children, comforting families, teaching adult learners, star gazing, and meeting new people. Her favorite song is, "It is Well With My Soul". Her life quotes states: "If I can help somebody, then my living will no be in vain". 


Mrs. Betty S. Pittman

Public Relations

Betty S. Pittman is the daughter of Mrs. Victoria Howington and the late Mr. Otto Lyons. She is the wife of Trustee Calvin J. Pittman and resides in Enfield, NC.


Betty graduated from T.S. Inborden High School, Enfield, NC. She is a Co-Founder of The Academy of Learning (Book Your Stay) in Enfield, NC, that serves as a reading center for youth.


Betty has three children; Kelvin, Michael, and Shanetta. She is the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.


Betty is a faithful member of First Baptist Church, where she serves as a Deaconess. She is also a member of the Greeters and Culinary Ministries. 


Betty began serving the community at S. Jones Funerals and Cremations as a Grief Counselor, under the leadership of owners Deacon Shaun Jones and Apostle Patrick Avent, and she has serves in this capacity for six years.

Betty's hobbies include cooking, taking care of family, hosting family gatherings, meeting new people, decorating for Christmas, working in the community, and giving to others. She can be found catering local events through her very own, "Silver's Catering Services". She is well-known for her famous Honeybun Cake.


Betty's favorite scripture is Psalm 27, in its entirety. The Book of Job is, by far, her most studied scriptures. Her favorite song is, "You Are My Strength".

Mr. Lee Wiggins, Jr.

Mr. Lee Wiggins, Jr.

Mr. Lee Wiggins, Jr., son of Lee Wiggins, Sr. and the late Minister Mary S. Wiggins is a native of Rocky Mount, NC and a 2002  graduate of Rocky Mount High School.

Lee has been an active funeral attendant in the funeral industry since 2005, and has been apart of the S. Jones staff since 2014. 

His passion for funeral service and compassionate care for each family that he comes in contact with makes Lee a great addition for our style of service here at S. Jones, we are glad God has allowed Lee to cross paths with our business and our mission.

Lee's welcoming spirit is a true signature of his commitment.

Mr. Ban'tau Abdule Davis

After a courageous battle, Ban'tau Abdule Davis, 45, of Enfield, NC put down the cares of this world and entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 12, 2020 in the comfort of his home.

He was the owner and operator of Davis Lawn Care and Davis Car Wash.
